Terms of Use
Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Dorothy’s Corner. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Dorothy’s Corner LLC (“Dorothy’s Corner,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
Dorothy’s Corner provides interactive learning apps, educational activities, demonstrations, digital resources, and related services for children, families, educators, and learning environments (collectively, the “Service”). Some features are available without charge, while others require a paid membership or separate purchase.
By creating an account, purchasing a membership or digital product, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. Adult Accounts and Learner Access
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an adult account, purchase a membership, or make a purchase through Dorothy’s Corner.
Children may use Dorothy’s Corner only through a learner profile, supervised experience, or other access established or authorized by a parent, legal guardian, educator, or other adult with appropriate authority.
Adults who create or manage learner profiles are responsible for:
- Supervising learner use of the Service;
- Providing accurate account and learner information;
- Obtaining any permission required before providing learner information to Dorothy’s Corner;
- Keeping account credentials and access PINs secure; and
- Ensuring that the Service is used in accordance with these Terms.
Educators and organizations may provide learners access only when they have appropriate authorization from the learner’s parent, legal guardian, school, or organization, as applicable. Creating an educator account does not by itself establish that the educator has authority to provide consent on behalf of a child.
Learners may not independently create adult accounts, purchase memberships, or submit payment information.
3. Learner Information and Parental Permission
Dorothy’s Corner may allow adults to create learner profiles and may store information such as a learner’s display name, grade, app progress, completed activities, achievements, saved answers, reflections, goals, or similar learning information.
Where required, persistent learner access and saving features may remain unavailable until the applicable parental or guardian permission process has been completed.
Adults are responsible for reviewing our Privacy Policy and any learner-data notice presented during account or profile setup. Our collection, use, retention, and deletion of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Free Access, Demonstrations, and Previews
Dorothy’s Corner may provide free content, public demonstrations, adult previews, trial features, or other limited access without a paid membership.
Free, demonstration, and preview access may:
- Include only selected apps, chapters, activities, themes, or features;
- Prevent progress, answers, or other activity from being permanently saved;
- Differ from the experience available through a learner profile;
- Include prompts to create an account or purchase a membership; and
- Be changed, limited, or discontinued at any time.
Access to free content does not guarantee continued access to any particular app, activity, or feature.
5. Paid Memberships and Automatic Renewal
Certain content and features require a paid membership, which may be identified as a “Star Membership” or another membership name displayed at checkout.
The price, billing frequency, included features, and applicable taxes will be disclosed before purchase. Unless otherwise stated at checkout, paid memberships automatically renew at the selected billing frequency until canceled.
By purchasing a recurring membership, you authorize Dorothy’s Corner and its payment processor to charge the applicable recurring membership fees and taxes to your selected payment method until you cancel.
You may cancel through the billing or membership settings available in your account. Cancellation prevents future renewal charges. Unless otherwise stated or required by law, you will continue to have paid access through the end of the billing period for which you have already paid.
Deleting a learner profile or discontinuing use of the Service does not automatically cancel a paid membership. You must cancel the membership through the available billing settings.
We may change membership prices or included features. If a price change affects an existing recurring membership, we will provide notice before the new price applies to a future billing period where required by law.
6. Payments and Refunds
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe. Dorothy’s Corner does not directly store complete payment-card information.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information. If a payment cannot be completed, we may limit or suspend access to paid features until the payment issue is resolved.
Except where required by law or expressly stated at the time of purchase, membership payments and digital-product purchases are nonrefundable. We do not ordinarily provide prorated refunds or credits for partially used membership periods, unused content, or failure to use the Service.
Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived.
7. Digital Products and Separate Purchases
Dorothy’s Corner may sell downloadable or digitally delivered products separately from a membership, including workbooks, activity packs, printables, guides, or other educational resources.
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, purchasing a digital product gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, print, and use that product for your personal, household, or authorized educational use.
A purchase does not transfer ownership of the product or its intellectual property. You may not resell, redistribute, share publicly, sublicense, upload to a shared resource library, or claim the product as your own.
Any additional classroom, school, organizational, or commercial usage rights will be described on the applicable product page or license.
8. License and Permitted Use
Subject to these Terms, Dorothy’s Corner grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to access and use the Service for personal, household, or authorized educational purposes.
Your use must remain within the number of adult accounts, learner profiles, classrooms, users, or other limits associated with your membership or purchase.
You may use printed or displayed materials with the learners you are authorized to support, but you may not distribute Dorothy’s Corner content to unrelated individuals, other organizations, public websites, shared drives, marketplaces, or social-media groups unless we provide written permission.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content except as expressly permitted;
- Share account credentials with unauthorized individuals;
- Circumvent membership restrictions, access controls, learner limits, or security features;
- Access or attempt to access another person’s account, learner information, or saved activity without authorization;
- Scrape, harvest, extract, or systematically collect content or data from the Service;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover the source code of the Service except where such a restriction is prohibited by law;
- Upload malicious code or interfere with the security, availability, or proper functioning of the Service;
- Use automated systems or bots to access the Service without our written permission;
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or exploitative purposes;
- Submit content that violates another person’s rights; or
- Misrepresent your identity, authority, or relationship to a learner.
We may investigate suspected violations and suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect Dorothy’s Corner, its users, or others.
10. Saved Answers and User-Submitted Content
The Service may allow learners or adults to enter and save answers, reflections, goals, notes, or other content (“User Content”).
You retain any ownership rights you may have in your User Content. You grant Dorothy’s Corner a limited license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service and provide its features to you.
You are responsible for the User Content submitted through your account. You should not enter sensitive information that is unnecessary for the learning activity, including complete financial-account information, government identification numbers, medical records, precise location information, or other highly sensitive personal information.
We may remove User Content when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce these Terms, protect users, or maintain the security and operation of the Service.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service and all related apps, lessons, activities, text, graphics, illustrations, characters, logos, designs, audio, video, software, features, downloads, and other materials are owned by Dorothy’s Corner LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
Except for the limited usage rights expressly granted in these Terms, no right, title, or interest in the Service or its content is transferred to you.
“Dorothy’s Corner,” its logos, and related brand elements may not be used without our prior written permission.
12. Educational and Informational Disclaimer
Dorothy’s Corner is designed to support learning, discussion, skill-building, and personal growth. The Service is not a school, tutoring provider, financial adviser, healthcare provider, therapist, counselor, or substitute for professional educational, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice.
We do not guarantee particular academic, developmental, financial, behavioral, or personal outcomes. Activities and examples may not be appropriate for every learner or circumstance. Adults are responsible for deciding whether particular content is suitable for the learners they supervise.
Any money-related examples are educational only and do not constitute financial advice or instructions to enter into a financial transaction.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
Dorothy’s Corner uses third-party providers to support functions such as hosting, authentication, data storage, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing.
The Service may also contain links to third-party websites or resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, security, availability, or services of third parties. Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider’s separate terms and policies.
A link or integration does not necessarily mean that Dorothy’s Corner endorses the third party.
14. Platform Availability and Changes
We work to keep the Service available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure access.
Access may occasionally be interrupted because of maintenance, updates, internet or hosting failures, security concerns, events outside our control, or other operational reasons.
We may add, update, replace, limit, or discontinue apps, activities, features, free content, demonstrations, or other parts of the Service. Where reasonably practical, we will provide notice of material changes that substantially affect an active paid membership.
We are not responsible for a user’s inability to access the Service because of an unsupported device, browser settings, internet connection, third-party outage, or failure to install available updates.
15. Account Closure, Suspension, and Termination
You may close your account in accordance with the options provided through the Service or by contacting us.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account if:
- These Terms are violated;
- Required payments are not completed;
- The account presents a security, legal, or operational risk;
- We reasonably believe the account is being used without proper authorization;
- Suspension is necessary to protect a learner or another person; or
- We discontinue the Service.
If an account is closed or terminated, the right to use the Service ends, and saved progress or other account information may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
Account closure does not automatically entitle you to a refund and does not eliminate payment obligations incurred before closure.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law—will remain in effect.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all related content are provided “as is” and “as available.”
Dorothy’s Corner disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and noninfringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will always be available, secure, accurate, complete, error-free, or suitable for every learner.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dorothy’s Corner LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or use, arising from or related to the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total combined liability of Dorothy’s Corner for claims arising from or related to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid directly to Dorothy’s Corner during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
- One hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory asserted and even if we were advised that such damages were possible.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
18. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dorothy’s Corner LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from:
- Your material violation of these Terms;
- Your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service;
- User Content submitted through your account;
- Your violation of another person’s rights; or
- Your failure to obtain appropriate authorization before providing a learner with access or submitting learner information.
This section does not require you to indemnify Dorothy’s Corner for conduct for which indemnification cannot legally be required.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, legal requirements, or other operational needs.
We will post the revised Terms and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Service, by email, or through another reasonable method.
Changes will apply prospectively from their stated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any recurring membership.
20. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any legal action arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service must be brought in a state or federal court with appropriate jurisdiction in Georgia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
You and Dorothy’s Corner consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
21. General Terms
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our written permission. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or other lawful business transfer.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any purchase-specific terms presented to you, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dorothy’s Corner regarding the Service.
Headings are provided for convenience and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms.
